2-Apr-2000 v3.6
-
A serious bug which caused cross fade to crash (very seldom, but anyway)
has been corrected!
-
Support for Effect/DSP plugins and General Purpose
plugins
-
Ir remote control support via my new program: BeInControl
-
5 small effect plugins added to show how it works...
(source code in the DevKit)
-
(Echo, Extra Stereo, Mono, Left Right Swap and Voice
Remover)
-
Scripting support has been added, allowing frontends
to browse the playlist
-
Yet 2 more small skin glitches have been corrected
-
Selecting files in the playlist is slightly improved
again
-
Pausing a song made nearly a second of audio disappear.
Fixed now...
-
Better plugin shutdown sequence so open plugin windows
doesn't crash CL-Amp when CL-Amp is being closed!
-
Saving all settings files in its own folder in the
settings folder! End of that mess! :-)
-
The plugin hook functions now get a pointer to a
struct instead of one lonely int value. CL-Amp's settings path can be found
in that struct!
-
Old already compiled plugins will anyhow work. The
solution is back compatible!
-
Scot Hacker,
Marco
Nelissen and I have agreed to
change the play list mime type to text/x-playlist instead of the old text/x-cl-amp-playlist
and text/x-soundplay-playlist. It makes RipEnc, CL-Amp and SoundPlay work
better together! Therefor there is also some changes made regarding the
mime handling and I hope that will not cause any problems!
-
A new option is added under sub menu Application:
Convert bad mime types to correct ones.
-
New for BeOS R5 users: Mouse wheel will in main window
control the volume and in the playlist scroll the text!
-
Registering file type icons correctly under BeOS
5 now... (When you select: Make CL-Amp your preferred application)
-
Redrawing the playlist is perhaps somewhat faster
now? (I had forgot to change DrawBitmap to DrawBitmapAsync in there)
-
The function GetSongInfo() should be useable in Visual
plugins now
-
The Amp plugin is removed to decrease the size of
the archive. It has to be downloaded separetly from the the
utility page if anyone whish to use it!
2-Mar-2000 v3.53
-
The graph is back again thanks to info from
Jonathan
Belson and Paul Bourke.
-
Both the old code and WinAmp itself makes one mistake.
How to see it?: Everything should be zeroed and then adjust the 1k slider
(as an example) to the top level. Of some strange reason some part of the
curve now goes BELOW zero and that can't be right! Increasing one band
should not cause others to be lowered! The new code make no such mistake...
;-)
The peak for some bands were some pixels wrong
sideway before
28-Feb-2000 v3.52
The graph is removed from the Eq but otherwise it
works as before...
A bug which made it impossible to turn of cross fading
is corrected
26-Feb-2000 v3.51
Midi plugin bug "Starting at last JumpTo pos" is
fixed!
URL input box is not resizeble any more...
Marking songs in playlist works as in WinAmp now
(Control and Shift)
After sorting, the list will center around the last
marked song
Eq shade bug fixed (it was 0-100% instead of 50-200%)
PS: Test the new screen saver which can be found
at the bottom of the utility page
6-Feb-2000 v3.5
Equalizer window is added. Note however: it will
only work with the Mpg123 plugin!, so move that one to the top and/or deactivate
the Amp plugin!
The windows should snap better to the screen and
to each other now (it was not snaping to the bottom of the screen before
and more such small things...)
A new option added: Send shaded window to behind
when right clicking the title bar (it's ON default but it can be nice to
turn it off...)
The menu is poping up whatever window is right clicked
in (main, eq or playlist).
A Reset button is added to the Fade preferences.
The delete and insert key is now working in the Playlist
window...
The Tracker Add-ons has been renamed, so they shall
appear near each other in the menu
17-Jan-2000 v3.3
CL-Amp now handles incomplete skins... When something
is missed it will be replaced with parts from the WinAmp skin in the same
way WinAmp does.
Zipped skins are now supported. Just put a zipped
skin archive in your Skins folder and CL-Amp should be able to use that
skin!
WinAmp's own skin installation files (ext: .wsz and
mime type: interface/x-winamp-skin) is now supported. Unlike WinAmp its
okay for CL-Amp if they are put directly into the Skins folder... In there
they will work as a normal skin. If they are somewhere else and dropped
on CL-Amp they will be installed in the Skins folder and automatically
become the currently used skin.
If CL-Amp is made prefered app and the mime type
is correct on the .wsz file, it should be possible to double click the
.wsz file where after CL-Amp should then be launched (if not already running),
the skin copied to the Skins folder and then selected as the current skin!
Even better is perhaps clicking on a .wsz link
in N+ which should start up CL-Amp with that new skin (and install the
skin in your Skin folder)...
The terrible main menu has been cleaned up now! It
should been done ages ago but I have been to lazy... I hope this new menu
makes better sense!
Thanks to Jens
Johansson several skin bugs have been corrected in the playlist.
A new option has been added: Allow launching multiple
CL-Amps
Another new option is: Always just add files to the
playlist
And btw... 2 new subpages are added to this page:
CL-Amp
plugins and CL-Amp skins
26-Nov-99 v3.2
-
Visual plugin support (I have no dev docs ready,
but perhaps I can do that in Australia (I will have my Laptop with me =
Windows, uhh))
-
A simple VU-Meter plugin is included to serve as
an example.
-
Trent Trautman
has also made a simple but anyway nice VU-Meter plugin.
-
2 Tracker AddOns are included which simply can be
installed. READ the document in the CL-Amp folder!! They will make it possible
to left click on a file or folder and select "Add-Ons -> Play this with
CL-Amp" or "Add-Ons -> Add this to CL-Amp's playlist"
-
A nasty bug which created new threads every time
the Add new file option was used...
-
A resizing problem with the Plugin window is fixed
-
Have you terminal guys tested Mikael
Jansson's 2 fine front-ends? (Get them here: clr
and CLStat)
-
Hint: Use Spicy
keys to assign clr commands to certain keys. E.g. "ALT-n" could be
assigned to "clr next fade" which make CL-Amp fading to the next song...
Even volume can be controlled this way!
3-Sep-99 v3.01
-
Fixed the main window refresh bug when switching
Workspaces
-
Fixed a bug which made Mpg123 not starting from position
0% when such a repositioning was requested
-
Left and right arrow buttons in play list are now
fast forwards and backwards as in the main window
30-Aug-99 v3.0
-
Wave output plugin! It's quite flexible and recording
the fading is possible: I think it's very cool to burn a CD with 0 time
(CD Manager)
between the tracks and having the cross fading on that CD! Read more about
it in the Plugin section!
-
CL-Amp remembers the playlist when it's started.
(The time and other info is also remembered and don't has to be reread
again!! Plus in shuffle mode it also remembers which songs has been played
and in which order! :-) Perfect for a large playlist and Shuffle and Repeat
mode activated!
-
The Plugin and Skin window is not Modal any more!
(you can work with CL-Amp while they are open). Fade window will follow
soon...
-
The "bug" with the Skin selector and Focus Follows
Mouse should be gone now
-
A minor error in the skin handling has been corrected.
I streched the titlebar 1 pixel... oops... (Thanks Jens
Johansson)
-
Input plugins can be deactivated. Could be good for
some testing...
-
When CL-Amp is minimized or on another workspace
the analyzer is stopped which will save some CPU time... (Thanks Wade
Majors)
-
John Robinson
has exterminated a memory leak bug in his fine MikMod Input Plugin! (Thanks
John!)
New DevKit available. Output plugin and FrontEnd
headers added. Input Plugin headers improved a little.
-
Look at the download section!
25-Jul-99 v2.7
-
CL-Amp can read ShoutCast playlists now (they are
called PLS playlists in WinAmp)
-
The memset crash that occoured sometimes in the Mpg123
plugin is found (Thanks to Thomas
Neumann). I have written a letter to Michael
Hipp (creator of Mpg123) about it so hopefully it will be fixed in
the new version of Mpg123! I have made a work around that hopefully will
make not crash at least!
-
A new plugin is added. It's a sinus wave tone generator...
It's used by adding URL's like tone://440 to get a 440Hz tone or like guitar://2
to get the tone for the second string on a guitar. (One of my beta testers
is now using CL-Amp to tune his guitar. :-)
-
CTRL-COMMAND-L is now causing the AddURL requester
to pop up!
-
That requester is, by the way, now also remembering
the last URL that has been written!
-
MiniDisc users has asked for an option to get a 3
seconds delay in between songs. It can be found in the menu now....
-
Visualization on, is now in the menu also. It's easier
to see if it's on or off now... :-)
14-Jul-99 v2.6
-
CL-Amp can read relative playlists now and can also
read playlists from MS Windows, like WinAmp's m3u files (but they have
to be relative, since C:, D: and so on... doesn't mean anything in BeOS
;-)
-
Previous song button works in Shuffle mode now!
-
Previous song can also be cross faded to now if you
hold down the Shift key while you click on the Previous button! (Shift-Z
on the keyboard)
-
You can also hold down the Shift key when you turn
off CL-Amp and when you drag a file (or folder) to the main window!
-
The clutter bar (the menu thing to the left of the
time display) is working now.
-
The position bar in shade mode is working now!! Even
here its possible to use the shift key to fine adjust the position!
-
The about 'button' in the main window does work now.
-
CL-Amp crashed when the id3 tag was changed on the
currently playing song. This is fixed now.
-
CL-Amp crashed some times when cross fading or when
you jumped around in songs. It seems okay now.
-
Be changed a priority which made CL-Amp much more
sensitive under R4.5! This is fixed now...
-
Shoutcast support for playing ordinary mp3 files
on normal sites is better now.
-
The title of a Shoutcast server is shown in the playlist
when you successully played from the server once! It's much easier to find
the favorite server in a list now!
-
The font and background color in the playlist is
taken from the skin now. However, the old font bitmaps is not used, yet...
-
The plugin window now has a up and a down button.
Plugins can be rearranged to get CL-Amp to use a specific plugin before
another one.
-
(The alternative mp3 player plugin based on the Amp
decoder is now moved in to the 'Plugins' folder. Select which one to use
by moving it to the top of the list!)
-
Playing from NFS mounted partitions shall work now!
-
Thomas Neumann has updated his
.mod/.mtm plugin.
-
Id3 tags couldn't be changed in files with a colon somewhere in the path.
This is fixed now.
2-Jun-99 v2.51
-
A nasty bug making some mono songs loop forever in
the last 2 seconds of the song is corrected!
-
Spectrum analyzer should work a little better now.
-
Id3 tag info can be requested from the main window
now (press I or E)
-
Some mp3 songs can't be played with the mpg123 plugin
so I have made an alternative plugin of the old Amp engine! Please, read
the readme file in the archive...
-
A "divide with zero" bug when playing files less
than 1 second long is fixed.
-
The new menu choice "Always show filenames" makes
it possible to get rid of the titles produces from id3tags.
21-May-99 v2.5
-
CL-Amp now supports fading! BUT, be aware that the
MediaKit in BeOS R4 is quite sensitive so there can be a little hack when
cross fading is started (depends on your computer, with 2 processors there
is no problem...). Fat partitions seems worse to play from than BeOS partitions!
Beta testers should be aware that there is a bug in Genki/6 that makes
the MediaKit HYPER-sensitive but it will be fixed in Genki/7 in which CL-Amp
shall sound perfectly! SO, bottom line is: Next BeOS release will take
care of the hack problem!
-
Its now possible to fade out the current song if you hold down the Shift
key while you click on the Stop button! (Shift-V on the keyboard)
-
Shift-Play makes the song fade in if no song is already being played. (Shift-X
on the keyboard)
-
Even cooler is the cross fading that occur when you hold down the
Shift key while you click on the Next button! (Shift-B on the keyboard)
-
Its also possible to (cross)fade in a song by holding down Shift and double
click on a song in the play list! (Shift-ENTER on the keyboard)
-
Automatic cross fading can be turned on from the menu, of course... (It
then fades between the songs by itself)
-
A preference window letting you adjust the fade parameters has been added
(look in the menu or press ALT-F)
-
Thanks to John Robinson we now have
a MikMod plugin which let us play almost ALL module files... Please read
about it in the Plugins section!
-
Pieter Panman has added a nice Id3
tag window to the mp3 plugin letting us edit the tag by simply selecting
one in the playlist and press the I or E button!
-
The playlist is now showing a title formed from the id3 tag instead of
the filename if an id3 tag is available!
-
Thomas Neumann has finished his
.mod/.mtm plugin and its not needing any external library anymore!
-
The BeAudio plugin (wav, aiff ...) should be okay now
-
The small arrows under the position bar in the play list window is working
now and they are added to the default skin as well.
-
Auto scrolling title display can be turned of now and the text can be dragged
manually.
-
The skins path (the folder where you keep your skins) can now be set to
whatever folder (= WinAmp and CL-Amp can use the same Skins folder!)
-
The skins are always reread when the Skins selector is opened! You don't
have to restart CL-Amp anymore when you add a new skin!
-
When you drag around the position slider the time is also changing.
-
Fine adjusting the sliders (hold down Shift) is bug fixed plus its now
showing tens of percent (e.g. 10.3%)

The ShoutCast buffer information bar is bug fixed and should work better
now
30-Mar-99 v2.01

A bug which made mono songs playing badly is corrected.
-
ENTER start the currently selected song if pressed in the PlayList.
28-Mar-99 v2.0

pop up showing you the loaded plugins!
-
FASTER mp3 decoder! CL-Amp uses Mpg123 now, PLUS the fact that CL-Amp is
much more optimized now!
-
FASTER spectrum analyzer! Lots of optimizing has been done here also!!
-
Thanks Trent Trautman, for your invaluable help in speeding things up...
-
Plugins available for mp3, midi, mod, aiff and wav! Read about the plugins
below!
-
The Mod plugin and the Wav-AIff plugin must be moved from a folder to get
to work!! Read the Plugins section below!
-
Thanks goes to Thomas Neumann,
Brendan
Allen and Trent Trautman for
their plugins!! And again: Read the Plugins section!! ;-)
-
Playlists from APlayer, MidiWorld!
and SoundPlay
are supported...
-
CL-Amp's own playlists now gets a proper mime type when they are saved...
-
Proxy preferences are moved! Open the Plugins window, select the mp3 player
and press the Prefs button.
-
Shoutcast buffer size and prebuffering limit can be adjusted at the same

knob will jump to that position...
-
The length information in the playlist window is now updated while CL-Amp
is playing
-
Its possible to drag files around in the play list! Shift-click to mark
several files...

CL-Amp can registrate itself as the preferred application for its supported
audio formats... (the menu again!)
-
I have done an icon which is applied to the audio files when CL-Amp is
registrating itself
-
The thind gray line around the windows are gone...
-
Lots of bugs that I don't remember right now have been corrected...
9-Feb-99 v1.2
-
Shoutcast support has been added! VERY basic, but it will become better...
(I hope :-)
-
Variable rate mp3 support is better now.
-
The LIST button in the playlist did not function when the playlist window
was wider than default. Has been corrected!
-
I didn't know that bitmap views should be Sync'ed, so a bug showed up which
made the spectrum analyzer flickering. Now corrected...
31-Jan-99 v1.1
-
Some minor bugs has been fixed.
-
Repeat didn't work in shuffle mode!
-
In double mode some strings were drawn in wrong places in the Playlist
-
And some small things added
-
Key input is working now! (Thanks to a hint from Daniel Switkin!)
-
z - Prev song
-
x - Play
-
c - Pause
-
v - Stop
-
b - Next song

l - Load file(s)
-
Arrow up or down - Volume 5% up or down
-
Arrow left or right - Jump 2.5% forward or backward in the song
-
Menu button DEL MISC gives the choice to Physically remove files.
-
Menu botton MISC MISC gives some possibilities to change the Played
status of files
-
The playlist scrolls automatically to a good position when a new
file is started to play.
27-Jan-99 v1.0
-
I have remade the playlist totally. It is now like WinAmp 2.x!
I think this is a big step forward for CL-Amp and I call this version 1.0.
However, it remains some doings before I'm satisfied. I have not been able
to get the BViews to accept the keyboard! I never get any KeyDown() call...
I will work on it!
-
The play list can be docked to the main window. When the main window is
moved around the playlist will move along! Shade-mode is working and also
double mode! (Dont work with the original WinAmp's play list ;-)
-
Finally I have done some good speed ups! The update of the graphic is much
faster now!
8-Jan-99 v0.4d
-
Jake Latham wanted to enqueue files easier! You can always open the Play
List and drop files there, but now there is an option 'Drag and drop ->
Main Window -> '. There can be choosen either 'Files becomes the list'
or 'Add files to playlist'. Default is 'Files becomes the list'! If 'Add
files to playlist' is selected all files droped on the mainwindow will
only be added, just like Play List window always is working. I hope this
is a step in the right direction?
-
I support two more bitmaps in the skins now. This is additions made in
WinAmp 2.0 skins!
-
One is 'num_ex.bmp' that makes it possible two have a fancier minus sign.
Since it replaces 'number.bmp' and CL-Amp requires all komponents in a
skin to be present, this should mean that more skins now are available
for use with CL-Amp!
-
And the second is balance.bmp that is an addition to normal skins which
makes it possible to make more out of the volume and balance (speed in
CL-Amp) bar. Check out the cool skin Nagasaki
to see what I mean! Cool volume and speed bar, dont you think?
-
I played around a little and made an addition that perhaps will be enjoyed
by true BeOS geeks! :-) Since it has to be supported in the skin its only
working with the default CL-Amp skin!! There is a new choice under 'Spectrum
analyzer' in the menu! I dont truly understand the word Geek, but this
is geeky or? (there will be a pumping image in the spectum analyzer area).
Perhaps I take it away or change it somewhat, we see... I was bored! :-)
31-Dec-98 v0.4c
-
Santiago Lema pointed out that this is working with other windows in BeOS:
Its now possible to click in the title bar and with ALT-Fx jump to another
screen which will cause CL-Amp to pop up at the new screen! I have also
done some small speed ups.
15-Dec-98 v0.4b
-
Tom Grandgent wanted to get rid of the speed bar's "automatik snap back
to 100%". Its selectable from the menu now!
25-Nov-98 v0.4
-
I have been tracking down all(?) bugs that poped up when I went over to
the new Media Kit! I think this release should be quite stable!!
-
The Speed bar (Balance bar in WinAmp) is working now... Should I add an
option so this can be used for the balance instead?
16-Nov-98 v0.3
-
Spectrum analyzer and Volume bars are back again! Now I think CL-Amp is
totally converted to BeOS R4...
-
Since v0.2c was given out, WAY to soon, it was full of so much bugs that
I'm deeply ashamed!!
-
This version is not perfekt, but MUCH MUCH better!!
-
There are still some problems with the sound! Sometimes it sounds good
and sometimes it sound a little crounchy... I think its the new media kit,
but I will try to get a better grip around this problem!
15-Nov-98 v0.2c
-
Fixed a terrible bug that made the Shuffle mode worthless
-
Now using the NEW media kit!! CL-Amp gets an own controller in the program
Audio (in Preferences) when CL-Amp is playing a song! Cool...
-
BUT I had to disable the Spectrum analyzer and the Volume bars because
that code is not yet compatible!! Will add them when I get some free time
again... :-)
-
Christophe Droulers didn't like that CL-Amp adjusted the main volume. This
is now fixed so the volume bar is only controlling CL-Amp's own volume!
9-Nov-98 v0.2b
-
The popup menu in the song selector was showing up at the wrong place when
the view was scrolled down. This is now corrected!
-
Links was not handled at all!! You couldn't drag a link to a mp3 song to
CL-Amp! This is fixed now!
-
I have taken away lots of the warnings the new Gnu Compiler complained
about! (= better code!)
18-Oct-98 v0.2 (Last BeOS R3 release...)
-
Actual configuration is now saved when the program is closed, and is loaded
the next time its started again!
-
I played around a little and added a speed adjustment where WinAmp has
the balance slider but I only succeded in making it slower so don't get
used to that slider! It will somehow be changed in the future!!
-
Spectrum analyzer is a little better now and I have also added some different
view modes. Change it from the popup menu!
-
The popup menu now shows the hotkeys for the different items.
12-Oct-98 v0.1
-
Scot Hacker pointed out that some skins were not possible to use... It
was because I had been lazy and thought it would be enough if all files
had to be in small letters. But I have now corrected this lazyness! :-)
-
Tony Magnusson and Berant Lemmenes wanted the possibility to drag directories
to the player and this is now added.
-
Volume analyzer is added! Visible when the player is in shade mode.
-
Spectrum analyzer is added. (Should be improved...)
-
The play-pause-stop indicator to the left of the time display is added.
1-Oct-98 v0.0b - Scot Hacker asked for the possibility to have skins
in "/boot/home/config/settings/skins" and this is now added... CL-Amp looks
both in this and its own Skins directory now.
