Noughts and Crosses for BeOS

Noughts and Crosses is an old game which is played by 2 players on a cross-ruled paper. It should not be misstaken for Tic-Tac-Toe which is something else. Noughts and Crosses has a large play field and the winner has to get 5 markers in a line (diagonal is allowed).
This game I originally wrote in Basic, on my old Commodore 64. When I then changed to Amiga, I rewrote this program in to C instead. Under my Win 3.x and Win95 period of my life (waste of time) I have not done any port because its so darn boring to write something in this environment. But now when I have started to test BeOS a little, this seemed to be a good project to start with. This is my first attempt to write programs for BeOS ...
The computer-player plays with a skill that can be compared with a medium player... Now, when it's in C++, I plan to make it better, but I have to see when I can do this!

    What is BeOS?

A promising new operating system which is so much better than Windows 95 and NT that I can't describe it. You can read about it here: BeOS Features! But its young, so there is not so much around, yet! The hardware support is VERY limited, but it will hopefully change!
When you visit a bank, post office, shop or what ever... they, quite often, have problem with their computers! And when you check which system they use, it always turn out to be Windows!! There is no problems with the computers! Only the operating system!!
You can also visit Be's own pages: Welcome to Be, Inc!
